  <description>Lamia Matta is a specialist on legal aid in Palestinian compensation claims and a legal advisor to the Palestinian Authority through the Palestinian Negotiations Support Unit. Matta studied comparative literature at Columbia University and holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Chicago as well as a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where she served as a staff member on the Texas Forum on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights and was a board member of the Public Interest Law Association. Matta clerked for the Honorable David Briones (Federal District Court, Western District of Texas, El Paso Division) for the 2000-2002 term. She is admitted to the California bar.&#xD;
